Málaga's Travel Guide

Every trip needs to have a bit of culture. In order to fulfill this need I recommend you to visit Málaga’s Carmen Thyssen Museum. Located right in the city centre, quite close to Larios’ Street, this museum hosts one of the largest collections of Spanish painting. The Thyssen has got its own collection, which is public all around the year. However, from time to time they present new, temporary collections from famous painters. Façade of the museum. The museum itself is an old Palace named Palacio de Villalón. As it was not very spacious, they added adjacent buildings in order to enlarge the main building. According to the museum’s website, the permanent collection is composed by 230 works of art that perfectly show Spain’s 19th century art. Tickets are quite affordable. Adults pay a normal fare. One of the most popular places to go in Málaga is the pier, known as "Muelle Uno". Since its renovation at the beggining of the 21st century, it has been one of the landmarks of the city. It serves as an actual dock for large cruises and boats, but also as an outdoor mall. The shopping centre hosts popular boutiques, restaurants, gift shops and everything you will need to spend a day shopping. Málaga is one of the most visited Spanish cities along with Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. In order to manage all the amount of visitors it receives, it has an extensive transport system. The city has its own airport, known as Málaga - Costa del Sol (AGP). There are 3 different terminals with flights between the most popular cities all around the world. The airport is quite close to the city centre and there are many ways of going from the terminal to the city. AGP Airport If you have just landed, you can take the train known as "Cercanías". It is basically the same thing as the underground, with the same affordable prices. If you are in a hurry and need to get to the city faster, you may prefer to catch a local taxi or an Uber or Cabify. Personnally, I recomend taking an VTC rather than a taxi as they are much cheaper and they have got an app that works perfectly from where you can order them and set a pick up location. A nearby place you should visit is Torremolinos: Torremolinos is a big city that is loved by tourists due to his climate and party options. It has got long beaches of white sand. I'm sure you'll love them. One of the most visited Torremolinos' beaches Another place you should visit is the Roman Theatre: Málaga's roman theatre are the remains of an old theatre from the old Malacca, the old Roman city. The Cathedral is a must:  It was built between 1528-1782. It is a very characteristic monument because it has only one tower. And if you like having fun, the best option for you is aqualand: It's a famous water park located 15 minutes away from the city. In my opinion, it is a very good choice if you have kids.
