Means of transport

Málaga is one of the most visited Spanish cities along with Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. In order to manage all the amount of visitors it receives, it has an extensive transport system.

The city has its own airport, known as Málaga - Costa del Sol (AGP). There are 3 different terminals with flights between the most popular cities all around the world. The airport is quite close to the city centre and there are many ways of going from the terminal to the city.

AGP Airport

If you have just landed, you can take the train known as "Cercanías". It is basically the same thing as the underground, with the same affordable prices. If you are in a hurry and need to get to the city faster, you may prefer to catch a local taxi or an Uber or Cabify. Personnally, I recomend taking an VTC rather than a taxi as they are much cheaper and they have got an app that works perfectly from where you can order them and set a pick up location.

However, the airport is not the only way of getting to the city. Málaga has got a train station right in the historic district. There are trains to a wide range of spanish cities, from Seville to Barcelona. In addition, there are also a few that connect the city with small towns such as Ronda, which you might also visit if you want to leave the city's noise behind.

If you asked me about how to move inside the city, I would recommend two effective ways: The bus and the underground system. Both are very popular between the inhabitants and the tourists and offer inexpensive prices. The underground is made exclusively for commuting inside the city. Nevertheless, the bus does have routes to nearby cities such as Benalmádena, Fuengirola or Marbella.

Well, that's all for today. I hope you find it useful!
