Every trip needs to have a bit of culture. In order to fulfill this need I recommend you to visit Málaga’s Carmen Thyssen Museum. Located right in the city centre, quite close to Larios’ Street, this museum hosts one of the largest collections of Spanish painting. The Thyssen has got its own collection, which is public all around the year. However, from time to time they present new, temporary collections from famous painters.

The museum itself is an old Palace named Palacio de Villalón. As it was not very spacious, they added adjacent buildings in order to enlarge the main building. According to the museum’s website, the permanent collection is composed by 230 works of art that perfectly show Spain’s 19th century art.
Tickets are quite affordable. Adults pay a normal fare. Students get a discount if they show their students ID. Kids go in for free.
